For the article discussion (only one is required), each student has to bring one short article from current business publications that relates to the chapters being discussed in class. These article discussions are only accepted on the days we cover your chosen chapters in class. That is, if you choose to prepare an article discussion for chapter 3, you will have to bring it to class on the day we will cover chapter 3. That also means that I will not accept any article discussions on the days I do not teach. Along with a copy of the article, you are required to turn in a short summary/discussion paper (1-2 pages, single-spaced, 10-12 Times New Roman) that summarizes (use your own words!!!) the article and provides a discussion that relates the article to the chapter material. That is, you need to discuss how the article ties in with the chapter. How does it support, negate or supplement the view of the textbook. Do not take this discussion part lightly, it is worth 30 points. That is, if you do not include this discussion part, you will automatically lose those 30 points. The summary/discussion paper has to be typed (use a computer!!!). Please put your name, course name and the chapter that the article relates to at the top of your assignment. A short PowerPoint presentation (2-3 slides) on the article is also required (15 points). Please note that you need to submit a copy of the article, the summary/discussion paper, and the PPT slides electronically to the Article Discussion Assignment folder on Canvas by 2 pm before the class. Failure to do so will result in a reduced grade for the article discussion

Below is a list of possible sources for your articles. The Wall Street Journal, Fortune ,Advertising Age, Marketing News Times, Adweek, Business Week ,Harvard Business

Review These and other possible publications should be available in the library and some are also available on the Internet.
